Thanks for taking time out of your crazy schedule to swing by WildFlora Provisions!
I decided to add a blog to my website so I could share more insight, recipes and updates in a little more detail with you. My hope is that I can give you a sense of optimism, inspiration and maybe even some transformational tidbits through my stories, recipes, nutritional knowledge and what I have learned along my healing journey!
For those of you who are new around here, I’d like to take a second to share what has inspired me to create WildFlora Provisions.
I was diagnosed with Hashimoto’s, an autoimmune disease that attacks the thyroid, when I was 12 years old. At that time I didn’t really notice a difference in how I felt or even fully understand what it meant to have an autoimmune disease. The doctor told me I just had to take a pill every day for the rest of my life and I was good to go!
I didn’t learn how complicated an autoimmune condition could be until about 10 years later when I started to notice more of a change in how I was feeling. Although I definitely had some of the basic symptoms such as gaining weight easily and difficulty losing it and dry skin throughout high school & college, it wasn’t until I was 24 when I began having more and more symptoms. It was as if Hashimotos was like “That’s it. I’m not letting you get away with living like I don’t exist anymore!” It was also around 24 when I realized I wanted to go back to school for nutrition therapy so I could help others with their diets. So I moved to Denver to attend the Nutrition Therapy Institute. And that’s when my health got real wonky and took a turn for the worse (something I may share it greater detail in future posts).On the positive side, I learned about the Autoimmune Paleo Protocol and began following it myself. It has helped me greatly decrease my antibodies and minimize symptoms. The downside is that it’s a challenging and restrictive diet that makes finding quick, easy snacks or meals on-the-go (and traveling, my favorite!) nearly impossible.
And that’s why I created WildFlora Provisions! I want to help you, my fellow #autoimmunewarrior , have more options so your journey isn’t as stressful and so you can go on living your life!
WildFlora Granola is AIP compliant and delicious, so even those not following a restrictive diet will enjoy it (and benefit from it)! You may be surprised to find that you don’t even miss the grains, nuts, or seeds! Give it a try, your gut will thank you! ☺️💕
