Here Are Some Questions You Might Have...
Shipping & Returns
Shipping is calculated at checkout and everything ships via USPS priority mail. I do my best to get orders out within 24 - 48 hrs of the order being placed.
You should receive an email confirmation including a tracking number once the order has shipped.
Once shipped, I am not responsible for your package whether lost, stolen, or delayed. Please contact USPS with your tracking number and they can help you.
Since this is a perishable item, I do not accept returns.
Where can I find your products?
If you happen to find yourself in the Adirondacks in Upstate New York, you can pick up granola (and more!) directly from me at some of the local Farmers' Markets.
Starting in June I can be found at the Saranac Lake, Lake Placid & Keene Farmers' Markets.
In addition, some local shops carry my granola: Nori's in Saranac Lake, Forever Wild Apothecary in Lake Placid, & Cedar Run in Keene.
If you live locally in Lake Placid/Saranac Lake/Keene, I am open to pick ups/drop offs if you can't make it to one of the markets.
Why no nuts, seeds, or grains, aren't those healthy for me?
Every body is different and nuts, seeds and grains can work for some and not for others.
When I created the "OG" granola, my mission was to provide a convenient breakfast or snack option for a specific group of people. Nuts, seeds and grains are completely removed from the autoimmune paleo protocol during the strict elimination phase which can last anywhere from a month to a few years for an individual.
In addition, these foods can be tough on digestion, exacerbate leaky gut, increase inflammation and elevate blood sugar, leading to hormonal imbalances and a whole cascade of events in a sensitive individual.
You can read more under the MY STORY tab.
Where do you make your products?
I make everything at a shared commercial kitchen space in Essex, NY.
Because it is a shared kitchen there is potential for cross contamination with common allergens like wheat, dairy, nuts, peanuts, etc.
However, I do my very best to avoid this and usually have the whole kitchen to myself when I make my products.
Where do you get your ingredients from?
Unfortunately, most of my ingredients are foods that cannot be grown here in the North Country, but I do source locally where I can!
I choose the highest quality, organic, fair-trade, non-gmo ingredients. While this makes the ingredient cost much higher, I truly believe it makes a difference nutritionally as well as in flavor and I also want to support companies that are ethically doing the right thing.
Ingredient quality is something I refuse to compromise on!
I've had many people tell me my granola just tastes 'clean' and I attribute that to the quality ingredients (no chemicals, preservatives, etc.) and making every batch by hand!
Are your products safe for Celiacs? Or for anyone with severe food allergies?
I would love to say yes, but unfortunately at this time I do not have a 100% gluten-free or allergen-free kitchen. I rent a shared kitchen space, meaning there is potential for cross contamination. While I do my very best to avoid any sort of cross contamination and usually have the kitchen all to myself, I cannot gaurantee it to be 100% free from any remnants of gluten or any of the top major allergens.
My products themselves never have any gluten-containing ingredients in them, but if extremely sensitive, I would recommend holding off.
How long does the granola last?
When stored properly, your granola will be good for up to 4-5 months from purchase date.
To store, keep bag sealed and ideally in an air-tight container (although not necessary!) in a cool, dry place. It can also be stored for a longer period of time in the freezer.
As humidity gets to it over time, it will simply lose some of its crunch, but is still safe to eat.
